We started out with 7 bridesmaids and 6 groomsmen, but it is now down to 6 and 6. Here is the breakdown:

It does seem like a decent sized wedding party. I would have liked less, but we couldnt leave any of these folks out.

Looks like we have a lot in common. I too love Ebay and I saw your dress and it was one my list of choices but then I saw another dressy that was even cheaper and it was Ivory and Gold. Thanks for checking out my website!! Everything is going so well... thanks for asking. I'm almost done. Just paying for things now. I thought coordinating this wedding would be a nightmare, but it hasn't been. It's actually been a lot of fun!! I have a GREAT group of women in my wedding. I think what helped me is that I started very early and I knew pretty much what wanted. I listened to complaints from other bridesmaids and didn't want that to happen with me. First, I wanted them to wear something and look good!!! Also something that they can wear again! That is the biggest complaint I hear.. (alll this money for one day...blah blah blah)

Our meetings are fun. We meet for drinks and just talk about things. We're already used to having slumber parties & things like that so I just combined those things into helping me plan the wedding.

As I was telling someone else, in the South people ASK if they can be a hostess and it is seen as an honor. Some of my hostesses were hostesses for my Mommy's wedding almost 30 years ago.

No, it sounds PERFECT! Sounds like you covered everything. I basically had to CREATE things for them to do because like I said, it is viewed as an honor and I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings :down: These are little ladies at our church, Mommy's friends, people who were friends of my Granny, etc. It's moreso for the sentiment. We have people who will be cleaning up, etc. but they will be doing little stuff like making sure no one leaves anything in the sanctuary, etc. Also, I have 500+ guests so I want all the help I can get. My wedding planner will also have them to assist her. I came up with this idea since she is doing a $3,000+ job for me for free. They will help her with the reception set-up, etc. I have about 62 tables plus my head table and kids table so I will have them help get the tables set, etc. I will also have them working the door along with the police officers because guests not on the list will not be allowed inside. Also there will be someone to attend to the children as I have about 15 children in my bridal party alone. They will be working in shifts so that EVERYONE can enjoy the reception. Like I said it's basically just to keep from hurting people's feelings. I had little 70 year old ladies asking if they can be a hostess and I just COULDN'T say no.
