Probably over because we didn't plan to have our reception where we had it but my parents saw it and said go for it! So basically they paid for our reception and my in-laws sent us on our honeymoon and we paid for everything else and yes there were still things to pay for. :)
we went WAY over budget, but it was worth every penny! :)

I am cheap and proud of it!!!!! I was 5000.00 give or take under budget. I am CHEAP but I still had a beautiful wedding.
I spent the bulk of our money on the things that mattered. And even those didn't cause us a arm, leg and my kidney. Sometimes I wonder if people worry more about what the people who they invite will think or say and thats why they spend way more money than they have too. Cause too often I hear I just wanna make sure everyone has a great time, or I wanna make sure there is something for everyone(as far as food) ok call me mean, but I didn't give a flying fig newton about the people I invited. Yeah they were all my friends and family but guess what...WE paid for OUR wedding and WE had what WE wanted. If they didn't like it oh well. There was a Jack in the Crack on the corner, help ya yourself. Bottom line, I just watched what I spent I didn't wanna start our life in debt. We paid for our wedding cold hard earned cash and came out debt free! And I don't care if people talk about my wedding for years to come or if they don't. The important thing is we will talk about and rememeber our wedding day for the rest of our lives!
By watching my pennies, I was able to splurge on my wonderful makeup artist and her assistant!

I hear you Trina! I don't give a crap about the guests either (I mean...well you know what I mean). I am having everything that I want! I am just very niave (how do you spell that?) to what things cost and when I found out it was too late!! I did very well on some things and other things...well........ let's just say I have learned a valuable lesson! I am paying cash for things too. My pastor asked us the other night will our wedding be paid for in 6 months.... I said.."huh? Try the month before the wedding"! Me & Debt are NOT friends!
I think what really killed me what the hotel. I know I could'e done better renting a hall and having it catered! For that i did think of the guests on his side since our wedding is in NJ and they are from the Southern states. I thought a hotel would be more convenient! :ponder:

We set one budget, had to up it and now we are going over that budget by about 2K. when all is said and done, I think we will be no more than 3K over budget but we are making sure we can handle it so we won't start the marriage off in debt....we have a house to save for too :)

We set a budget, I planned using 80% of that number in mind (because I knew I would go over), and we're still going to end up a little bit over by $1-2k.
We both just splurged on a couple of things. We fell in love with a photographer just out of our price range and the bar package at our site turned out to be more pricey than we anticipated.

Since we are both pretty frugal people, we call all our trips "The Frugal Tour", we tried to stay below $2500.00. After all was said and done, we only spent about $1500-1800.

At first we were exceeding our budget by about $2-3K. But now that we've changed everything around from our original plan, we are saving about $5K! :D

I hardly spent any money on my wedding...We never set a budget we just bought the things on the list...I bought my flowers out of season so they were on sale. God helped us because my wedding was beautiful and we were broke college students trying to make things happen.

I have been struggling because I wanted to keep things simple. I DID NOT want to spend a ton of money on stuff that we really didn't need. I went over budget by $70 from what I can tell and that includes our rings. I wanted the wedding to be intimate and truly about us. The only thing I have splurged on was our photographer because I was some amazing shots and after all the favors are given and after the reception is over, the pics will still be there to remind of of what the day was like.

We really do not have a budget, we are just trying to shop around for the best deals and prices, getting stuff off of ebay and doing some DIY. Right now we are at 30K for the DC area.

According to my online budget helper we are $516.00 UNDER our set budget. (Thank goodness for the Internet!) Hopefully we'll STAY under by the time the wedding day gets here.

Since I am paying for our wedding...I hope I will be under but knowing me, I might end up being over...it is too soon to tell since I have not really spent anything but I have been constantly checking prices...in 17 days, I will actually start to spend money

I am very cheap and proud. So our budget is $10,000 and no more. My fiance is begging me to up it but I can have my day without being in debt afterwards. My fiance and I are paying for this wedding with our hard earned money, our son is in private school and we have to save for our new house so this wedding is important but not important enough for us to jeopardize our future aspirations. My fiance is a financial advisor and he did a brilliant spreadsheet that lets us know what to spend, when to splurge and how to save. This wedding will be beautiful and elegant AND under or at $10,000.
