We got engaged on November 25th 2005. The day after Thanksgiving...
I was away at school in Atlanta at the time. I came home to California to spend time with my now hubby, Imus, and my family (but mostly him LOL). I had no idea that an engagement was looming, we talked about it, talked about rings, but that was about it. He must have been planning it for a while before I came home. He told me he had something he needed to do for work on Friday and asked if I wanted to come with. I don't know what he would've done if I would have said no lol. Well Friday came and it was pouring outside. He was so disappointed that about not being able to work that day. A little too disappointed. I just said "well lets see if it clears up". Well God was looking out for us or something because it went from pouring to beautiful sunshine in a matter of about an hour. We hopped in the car, I don't know why I still didn't think anything was up when he uncharacteristically played R&B love songs the whole way. We headed up to a cliff overlooking the San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. He looked at me and said "hey lets stop here" still no idea (despite the super romantic setting lol). We get out of the car and just look out. He puts his hand in his pocket, gets on one knee and recites a poem he wrote, ending with him asking "will you be my wife". Tears rolling down my cheeks, people standing around watching closely, I smile and whisper "yes". Our audience cheered and awwed, and one woman asked if she could take our picture.
