We were eating lunch one afternoon at our favorite restaurant at the time Coastal Flats in Tyson’s Corner. This was also the location of our first date. Although we had talked about getting married, had discussed Pre M classes and he had officially asked my parents for permission to marry me, I had no idea when an official proposal would come.
We sat in our usual seats and started to discuss what we were going to order. Adrian told me that he had left his cell phone in the car and would be right back. He leaves and I wait. After a while, I began to grow impatient and secretly im getting pissed off because I’m hungry and I tired of waiting. He gets back from the car and I excuse myself to the restroom, when I get back he is on his knee asking me if I would spend the rest of my life with him and pulls out the box. All I kept saying was “O my God” I said that about 25 times, meanwhile he is still on his knee. He then broke up the litany of o my god’s with “Woman, I’m going to need an answer”. He’s a funny dude. I say yes and then he jokingly asked me to help him up off the ground “You know I have a bad knee”. The restaurant brought out congratulations cake and took pictures. Everyone clapped.
Later I had asked him the details like, when do you have time to get a ring (we spent every moment outside of work together), how did you set this up with the restaurant , where have you been hiding it. He stated he had purchased the ring months ago, but could not give it to me before talking to my dad first.
We have been married now for 2 years and all I can say is that A good marriage Rocks!
