I woke up int the morning next to the man I was about to marry. We had decided to go to the court house and get our marriage license around 9am that morning. It was 5:30 am and I was excited.

Two of my sisters had driven up from Florida and they arrived around 8am. I was cleaning and getting things in order so the place wouldn't be messy. Once they got there, I went and took a shower and got dressed.

My FH and I got in my car and drove to the court house. (We listened to KRS-One on the way. So romantic! :rofl2:) Durning the drive, we both stated how we were not nervous because we are truly marrying our bestfriend.

Once we arrived, we went through security, looked for what room we needed to go to and proceeded. We were directed to a computer and completed our information. We then went back to the desk and took an oath and signed the license. So after all the junk we spoke in the car, we were both sweating bullets and looking at each other kind of crazy before signing the line. :rofl2:

We got a list of 5 people who could perform our ceremony. We began to call. The first person was not available, the second was on another call, the third could do it at 1pm, the forth did not answer and the fifth was in a meeting. I began to get frustrated but called the second back.

I asked her if she was available to perform our ceremony. "What time", she asked. "Like, right now," was my answer with a nervous laugh. "Well I have a 10:30 meeting. Can you be here in the next 5 minutes?" I looked at my watch, it was about 10:15, "I am at the courthouse where are you located." She gave me directions and asked a few questions, "Do you have rings to exchange? Would you like me to say a prayer? Would you like a bible verse read?" After answering we left.

Three minutes later we arrived, she was a lawyer. We waited in the lobby for a few and she came out and escorted us back to her office. Once inside she asked for the license and looked it over. "Are you ready?" she asked then began, "dearly beloved we are gathered here today....."

She said a prayer and read 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

We were pronounced husband and wife. It was just the two of us and it was beautiful and romantic. (We celebrated at Starbucks afterwards :rofl2:)

Later that evening we met with family and friends to eat Hibachi! :hungry: After that we went to the Martini Kitchen and had a wonderful time! I presented DH with his groom's cake at that time and he was surprised and he loved it! We went back home that night and prepared for the celebration for the next night.

I got up in the morning and my nieces went with me to the store to pick up a few things. I was so stressed out and they kept telling me to calm down. I was so frazzled I felt like I thought I was going to forget something! They helped me a lot. :hug99:

We got up to the hotel and I was just visiting my family in their rooms. We started my bridal shower at 12:30. We played games and ate. We ended at 2:00 so everyone should get dressed.

My Makeup artist was there at 2:30 and he did a great job. My sister came and did my hair in 15 minutes! I was down in the lobby by 3:30 to meet my DH. (He was late getting there. Since we were already married, I knew he wasn't skipping out!) He was surprised when he saw me. My dad drove us over to meet the photographer.

We took pictures down by the train station and had a great time (Shout out to Platinum Photographs by Lorenzo in Richmond, VA! :word:) After the shoot, we went back to the hotel to take pics with the family. We were out side and security came and told us we could not take pics there cause we were by the bank. :whatever:) The pics with familya and friends went well.

At 7pm we all lined up outside the reception room and made our entrance. My DJ introduced my mom and stepdad wrong. They are not longer together (and I told him that, but he introduced them as a couple.)

DH entered to "Chief Rocka by Lords of the underground and I entered to Butterflies sung by Floetry. (He did not know I was going to enter to this so he was surprised.) We began with the tasting of the elements, read by a friend. When I drank the vinegar (for bitter times), I could not breathe! It literally took my breath away!) My nieces read the blending/unity ceremony. We blended wax granules and then lit them to unite our families. We then did our official first dance.

It was really a great weekend over all.
