Thursday, April 20
It was raining like cats and dogs. That day I woke up and said a little prayer and said “Two more Days….please NO RAIN" I went to the Spa. I got a hot stone massage, waxing (brows, face. Bikini), and I got my lashes put on. The ladies at Bovanti at South Dekalb Mall were so nice and did an excellent job. I had lunch with my Mother who was very sentimental about me leaving the nest…..and later that day in the pouring rain I got my hair done. I was in there almost 2 hours which was absolutely annoying but Shelly did a great job. I had missed Tyraun by like 15 minutes (as we both got her locs groomed at the same place). After having my locs done, my father took me to dinner, and I finished some last minute details with my Aunt (who came by that night to pick up all the wedding supplies). I went to sleep around 12 midnight….just anticipating the next day.

The day of the rehearsal!! I was so excited. Early that day I was all excited. I went to Target and picked up a day of card for Tyraun. Luckily, Target was right near the hotel. I met my BM Yaki at the hotel and we checked into the room. Afterwards, we walked to the mall to chill for a few….we met Denise (who was getting her nails done) and Carter walking in the mall...and had a brief bite to eat. Then I ran into my in-laws who were so excited and shopping up a storm. After a few hours in the mall, I changed clothes and put on my makeup. Most the BM met at the hotel and rode with Peaches to the rehearsal….on the way I let the girls hear the wedding CD and they loved it. They cried and yelled and cheered! At the rehearsal, we met Denise and Robinette and we went into the Bridal Suite to just cut up a little bit. We waited for a long time and no sign of the groomsmen. Rehearsal was at 6 and only an hour…. Tyraun called and said that there had been a terrible mix up with the tux shop with the tuxedos……and they were still there. The traffic heading to Conyers was terrible…and only one groomsman (Ogo) showed up. I was so upset…my girls wouldn’t let me walk down the aisle or anything……..so I just sat there. That day the banquet hall/ceremony site allowed my aunts to go ahead and set up…..so there wasn’t much for them to do the day of the wedding except set up the ceremony area (which was supposed to be outside on the grass). After the rehearsal, we all piled back into Peaches’ SUV and rode back to the Hilton Garden Inn hotel were the Rehearsal Dinner would be. I met my out of town family members; I hugged my Grandma Verna so tight and just was so thrilled that they showed up from FLA. They raved on and on about the location (because the hotel was brand new and RIGHT near the mall…well…you could WALK to the mall across the parking lot). The dinner was being set up and my MIL and Aunts-in-Law wouldn’t let me take a peak until it was all done! IT was so worth it! When I walked in my mouth just dropped and I had tears in my eyes. The décor was so wonderful...they carried our wedding theme of Osram Ne Nsoromma and the jumping broom all throughout. There were gold and ivory balloons…our faces on the Bingo chips….and little gift bags for everyone. The food was EXCELLENT! We had roast beef with mushrooms, rice pilaf and salmon, salads, mashed potatoes, dessert bar…..My MIL Judy really went all out and it showed me how much she loved us…. We played games….had icebreakers...and finally exchanged gifts. Quynda(my BM and Ty's cousin) was the MC. We took a ton of pictures….Tyraun got me a tennis bracelet and I got Ty this old-school Phi Beta Sigma sweater that he had been sweating for months. He was so emotional!!! As was I….
That night…..Yaki and I went back to the hotel. I took a shower and just relaxed….we were supposed to go out that night but the rain started to hit pretty hard and got vicious. I heard a knock at the door…it was Tyraun who had been visiting family………..We kissed goodnight and exchanged some sweet words…and I got ready for the rest of the night ready to face the day...
